A Case study of a Family with Communication Program Using the Theory of Family Communication Therapy

Abstract
As families evolve, they develope communication patterns, ways of relating to each other that may be dysfunctional. The family communication therapy of Mental Research Institute can provide adequate family support, care and comfort to the dysfunctional family. The purpose of this study is to understand the theory of family communication therapy, and to promote its applicability in family nursing practice.

To do this, a case of a family with communication problems was selected.

The family problems are identified as follows ;

1) Alteration in family process related to interrupted communication between a couple.

2) Ineffective individual coping related to inadequate support system by client¢¥s husband.

These two problems are successfully relieved by application of family communication therapy, as evidenced by family with functional interaction and the relief of client¢¥s compulsive behaviors.
